adoption service Traditional Surrogacy -- The surrogate mother will be artificially inseminated by one of our board certified gynecologists with the sperm of the biological father. The surrogate mother will then go through a normal nine month pregnancy. After the baby is born, custody of the newborn will be given to the biological father. After six months to a year the biological father and his wife will legally adopt the child. This process allows the biological fathers wife to become the legal female parent of the new baby. In many cases this adoption process is not necessary, but strongly suggested by NAASI legal experts. All of the legal motions are filed with the court by NAASI attorneys before the surrogate becomes pregnant. The adoption process will take place in the home state of the parenting couple.

Gestational Surrogacy -- The biological couples fertilized egg or embryo will be implanted into the uterus of the surrogate mother. These eggs may be in the form of frozen embryos. The child born will then be 100% the biological child of the couple. In this case the surrogate mothers uterus was used only for growth and development of the child. The surrogate is in no way related biologically or genetically to the newborn. These facts will be signed and sealed by the courts before pregnancy occurs.

The type of surrogacy program chosen, will depend on the medical issues facing the couple. NAASI prefers to work with married surrogates that already have a family of their own, but have a strong desire to help childless couples have a family.
